The COBOL programs which holds the data in flat ISAM files are still hevily used in many countries thanks to the business logic which been incapsulated and tuned with care during many years. But such technology solution doesn't fit the modern requirements because the many reasons. Often such a solutions are designed for the single user. Also, they are not ready or hard to integrate with the modern continue integration business data workflows.

Outsourcing-Soft Software Development been hired by the customer from Connecticut, USA for reimplementing for about 100 COBOL / ISAM reporting programs on a modern technology basis using Microsoft .Net, C#, SQL Server Reporting Services ( SSRS ) and Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures.

The main problem for us during this project implementation was to extract the correct business rules for the data processing from the COBOL / ISAM sources. No other documentation been exist.

This long project been finished succesfully due to the close cooperation with our customer which is actually succesfull and highly experienced IT professional. This hard work was excited experience for Outsourcing-Soft.
